WWE DRAFT PICK THOUGHTS

This was written two days after the draft.

RAW

King Booker and Sharmell- This is the best thing for Booker. He had already gone through everyone on Smackdown. There was no one else on there whom he hadn't had a match with. Booker adds more main event level talent to the brand, along with a solid diva valet/manager who knows what she is doing and cares about this business unlike so many of the valets/divas they have had around lately. The only downsize I can see about him is the fact he had already fueded with Bobby Lashley who is one of the guys they are really building up. A fued wtih Cena might not be all that great. Yes Booker might be more willing to make Cena look good, but it might insight more people to hate Cena even more than they already do.

Bobby Lashley - I guess they figured since they've already basically had him be the focus on the show they might as well move him there. I really don't care for Lashley. My honest opinion is he's been shoved down our throats too much with very bad acting and verbal skills. The guy needs a manager. Unless he turns heel and forms and alliance with Umaga and uses Estrada as his manager, or forms an alliance with Booker and has Sharmell as his manager I'm not going to buy into him as being a TOP GUY. I will admit he can do some things in the ring, but he's just god awful on the mic. They need to focus on his strengths and stop having you see his weaknesses before he becomes another John Cena, where you have people booing the hell out of him. Anyhow this will help Lashley's career I'm sure, but I don't think this adds value to show one way or another.

Snitsky - Ok this makes no sense at all. Why bring back the guy you repackaged and moved over to ECW. If they wanted to move him why didn't they move him to Smackdown where maybe some of the fans might not remember him being the toe licking freak, who eventually became a jobber. It's still fresh in my mind if not others. I think he would have been better off staying on ECW. Because now all he is going to do is a be a monster face Cena then slowly fall back into the abyss he was in before being repacked and put on ECW. Sorry Gene.

Mr. Kennedy -
This in my opinion was the best pick ever. Especially if I would still be getting the USA network. This guy can wrestle, this guy can talk, this guy has it all. HE is the next Steve Austin. Now if it wasn't for the unfortunate injury maybe he wouldn't be coming to RAW, because right now he very well could have been World Champion instead of Edge. When I say next Steve Austin I really mean it. Watch Steve Austin from his WCW days and you really might get that feeling, although I'm sure Mr. Kennedy never watched Steve Austin when he was "Stunning" Steve Austin or when he was part of one of the greatest tag team duos ever in WCW the Hollywood Blondes. The cocky Brash Attitude that isn't over abrassive, is what is in when it comes to heels that people love. right now I can think of three heels people can't get enough and that's Edge, Randy Orton, and Mr. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy is the next big thing and I believe even though he lost the money in the bank to Edge and can no longer cash that in. He will win the Royal Rumble and He will go on to Wrestlemania and he will win either the WWE title or the World title. Place your bets now. Once Shawn Michaels returns I'd really like to see Mr. Kennedy have a little program with him, it should be a crowd pleaser if when Shawn comes back in full effect.

London and Kendrick - Another suprise that I wasn't expecting. These two are a high flying tag team that might build up the tag team division, since their really aren't any credible babyface teams on RAW. Since all the Babyface teams they've basically made look good then threw them in the toliet. Before the year is over They will be tag team champs on RAW. I can't wait to see these guys go one on one with the World's Greatest Tag Team. This is a good thing for these guys as maybe there isn't all that great of tag team competition on RAW either, but it will give them a chance to be around different wrestlers and shine bright on the A show.

Sandman - Unless they are getting ready to fire him I don't quite get this one. Does he have any friends who work on RAW? I really don't see him having too many allies over on RAW and I don't see very much for him to do on this show either. He was best suited to stick with his buddies on ECW, where occassionally they'd have some hardcore matches where he could bash his singapore cane on somebody.

Daivari - They obviously have no clue as to what they want to do with this guy. The had him as Hassan's manager but then Hassan got axed because he was found as too offensive, then he was Kahli's manager but then they decided they wanted him to wrestle so they move him to ECW, but then they decide they need more cruiserweights so they move him over to Smackdown. Now they move him back over to RAW, but what for? Are they going to put him in the IC title picture? Who knows, but they need to figure out what they want to do with him before people lose interest because this guys great at getting people riled up.

William Regal - Not to suprising to me although I'm sure this means Dave Taylor will be released soon since he apparently didn't come as a pacakage deal. IT would have been great to see even more tag teams on RAW, but oh well. Regal as great at getting crowds riled up and pissed at him. I'm guessing since he's coming alone they are putting him into the IC title mix. Santino Marella better step up his game or Regal will make him do so the hard way.

Jillian Hall - This is one I was expecting and hoping for, but not holding my breathe. This is a very good move for the women's division and very good move for Jillian. Hopefully she will seize this opportunity and grab it by the horns. She has finally moved over to the brand where the wrestling has more of focus when it comes to the women's divison. This will be her moment to shine, and shouldn't be too long before she is in women's title matches and wears the championship gold around her waste. It's about time to have another woman who can actually wrestle and has trained to become a wrestler all on her own on RAW. Plus RAW is really lacking on Heel Divas, which is why I don't get them moving Victoria but only time will tell on that one.

Smackdown

Great Kahli- Isn't he out with an injury? This man has been on all three shows within a matter of months I believe. This guy is like Giant Gonzalez and other enormous man WWE bring in to put up against to their top guys. To make it look like they are defeating and incredible undestructable monster. Well he's done his job, so what's the point in keeping him on any longer? They only thing that would have made sense would have been to keep him on RAW since Bobby Lashley is on there. Maybe that storyline of defeating the big evil guy would have been well better suited for him instead of the whole McMahon garbage. Either way the move really doesn't effect his career one way or another since there isn't really anyone who needs him to help their career at the moment on Smackdown.

Torrie Wilson- This is the best possible thing for Torrie Wilson. It's the place where she can do what she does best and that's look good. Torrie has always been better outside of the ring than it. Yes she has improved but how long has she been in this business? Long enough to have shown more improvement in the ring than she has. Torrie knows how to look good and be an excellent valet. Now hopefully they will continue to put her with Flair since he too has also move to Smackdown. What would be even better is if they brought up some new wrestler and her managed him. Even better yet let's give David Flair another chance at the wrestling busines and once again have him paired up with Torrie Wilson. Maybe under the WWE's guidance David Flair could be what everyone expected him to be over in WCW. Whoops I just jumped into a whole new person didn't I? But my point is Torrie is very nice and sweet but wrestling isn't her thing, valeting is. Any new wrestler who hooked up with Torrie, not in the physical sense, could elevate their career a couple of notches.

Chris Masters - This could be a good thing for him. Instead of being a jobber to the stars maybe, just maybe he will actually be used. Only time will tell. I however, thought he could be best used on ECW, but I guess WWE thought Smackdown would better suite him I guess. Not much to say expect, unless they don't figure out how to use him now, he might end upa jobber for life or released.

Ric Flair -
He is the man and this was a very well needed to change for the 16 time Champion. He really wasn't doing much of anything on RAW, except for enchancing the youngsters careers. However, after he would do it, then they would do nothing with those youngsters. So now Flair can finally go and be considered a top guy instead of a middle card man. This is also great for MVP, this guy has gotten to be in the ring with some of the greatest wrestlers in this business within his short tenure. Even though he'll won't be getting in the ring with the Ric Flair from the 80's he still will learn something and elevate his stardom even further. Plus the Smackdown lockeroom doesn't have any longtime veterans of the sport, except for the Undertaker and he's out of action. Having a guy like Ric Flair who is a legend in the sport, might help motivated the lockeroom even more to reach their full potential. Plus maybe JBL will tells us some Ric Flair stories during his commentary.

Kenny Dykstra- I think this is the guy who will benefit most from the draft. Having a young guy on a show that is loaded with tons of top talent, and is considered the A show, is not exactly the best show for someone who could possibly be the future of this business to start. Especially when they continually won't to focus on McMahon and his lovely favorites in Lashley and Cena. Smackdown might give him the break he is looking for. Now best thing they could do is have him immediately get in the mix of things, not tag team matches but singles matches against some of the top guys. Put him in their with Matt Hardy, Finlay, Kane, and then get him into that US title picture. Looking at the roster even maybe having a possible babyface change might help. But this is definately a good move. Because if he would have got stuck on RAW he would have been tag teaming with all sorts of individuals to the point where the potential for him to be a great singles wrestler probably would had dimished with the lack of faith put into him that he could be a top guy. Becuase there is only so many times you can get shoved into tag teams and put on heat before you become pretty sure of how you rank on the totum pole with the people who are in charge.

Hardcore Holly - He's a stiff worker, and take no BS from anybody. This is the guy they put in to make others look credible. Does it really matter they moved him back to Smackdown? No. Will this make Smackdown better? Probably not. Will it make it worse? Not likely. I'm just suprised they didn't move him over to RAW instead, since he was on Smackdown not to long ago. They'll probably put him in a program with Matt Hardy since it's looking more and more likely they are feeling more comfortable in possibly putting Hardy into their main eventers spot.

Major Brothers- Yet another new tag team for Smackdown. Well at least they have belts there. That's probably the only reason why they are on Smackdown since ECW doesn't have any tag titles. Look for them to fued with Duece and Domino since there doesn't seem to be too many babyface credible tag teams on Smackdown.

Victoria - This is a big suprise, I would have never thought they would move one of their top diva WRESTLERS over to the brand were female wrestling is a joke. However, the WWE has been using Victoria as the female jobber and also the breaking in girl, sometimes doing that literally like with Beth Phoenix. Anyhow this could maybe help out those who aren't quite their with their wrestling. But all those Smackdown divas if they get in the ring with her to wrestler they better step it up and not get lazy, because Victoria can work stiff and you don't want none of that. So SD divas get your act together, because I think Victoria is getting tired of laying down.

Eugene - He's been a joke and jobber on RAW and it's been getting old. So what do they do move him to Smackdown. Personally I would have given him a character overhaul after they shaved his head and said he had a labatomy. Hey it wouldn't be too far fetched since they want us to believe that Vince McMahon is dead. I really feel sorry for Mr. Dinsmore. It's got be really annoying playing a complete idiot all the time, and being the butt of almost everyone's jokes. A character overhaul would have been much better for him along with a change of scenenory, but without the character overhaul the change to Smackdown won't mean much.

ECW

The Boogeyman - Who cares? Really this guy isn't that good in the ring. The character maybe and interesting character, but which direction are we headed with wrestling now? Cartoonish characters or the semi real characters? I'm confused. You start to go one way and then you completely try to go back after you've already warped our mind going the opposite. If this character would have been around during Hogan and Warrior's day it would have been good but now it really doesn't mean much.

Viscera - Well he wasn't really doing anything on RAW so why not move him. However, I was really hoping they'd move Val Venis with him so they could form a tag team called the Love Machines. But I'm guessing ECW is not going to have tag titles anytime soon. The Love Machines could have been great, they could have been huge, they could have been enormous. I could go on and on about what should have been.

The Miz- Oh I called this one. However, once again I figured ECW would be getting some tag team titles. He and Shannon Moore would have been a great tag team. They could have been the punk posers team. And if Ashley would have been thrown into the mix, they would have been awesome. They would have had some the largest heat ever. People would have loved to talk shit and boo the hell out of these guys and they wouldn't have even had to really work that hard for them to do it. Personally The Miz to me is nothing but some dude who was on MTV and annoyed the holy hell out of me. Most Real World people with the exception of the first couple were basically just on the show to get noticed and get some fame. Media/Attention whores annoy me and that is exactly what The Miz is. So reality check that.

Johnny Nitro - Don't quite get and never saw this one coming. He's good and I liked him when he was trying out for I think the first or second tough enough and he didn't make it in. After that I kind of was like whatever. He's come a long way from being used at Bischoff's lackey. Nitro has got a lot of cool moves and is a former IC champ. Now it's time to see if he step it up. Maybe he will be Benoit's new project. But I can't wait to see Nitro in the mix, especially with Benoit, Punk, Cor Von, and Elijah Burke. Looks like ECW is trying to build some core players in their game and you can guarantee Nitro will be one of their top guys.
