Jeff Hardy, His Time is Now?

Many people are discussing Jeff Hardy’s win over Triple H. Most of them are talking about how it was such a surprise, mainly due to the fact that everyone has speculated that Triple H will become WWE champion sometime soon. I also was surprised as I thought they’d have Triple H win, but I thought by doing that they would have once again buried all the momentum Jeff Hardy had to put him up in that main event level talent pool.

This wouldn’t be the first time Triple H put Jeff over. April 2001 Jeff won his first IC title from Triple H. Instead of winning with a quick pin like last night he defeated Triple H after Matt rushed in and hit Triple H with a chair. However, he ended up losing the title back to 4 days later. Will we see history repeat itself with the title shot on the line? I hope not. Let Jeff get his chance to shine in a title match to get fans enthused and buy into the fact that Jeff is and will be a main eventer. He doesn’t need to win the title, but just show that he can hang with the best.

To me and most fans Triple H always come off as put himself up on a pedestal more than helping others advance. Not that he hasn’t laid down for some guys, but eventually it somehow he turns it back around and keeps himself on top. I know there is a lack of main event level guys, but instead of burying guys to the point of no return wouldn’t it be in his best interest to help guys and improve. Doing that just puts more pressure on guys like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, who have come back from injury, to come back sooner and work maybe a little harder than their bodies are ready for.

I would think Triple H would now be more focused on the legacy he will have in wrestling once he hangs up the boots, than how many title reigns he has had. I remember once Shawn Michaels said he came back to do the match with Steve Austin for the WWF title because he could see big things for Steve and he wanted to be the guy to push him off to that next level. I’d think Triple H would want to do that too, and not just with one guy but quite a bunch so he can say years from now I’m the one that helped take so and so to the big time.

Jeff is a great wrestler, he’s innovative, creative and has a unique look. He isn’t the biggest wrestler and probably not the most talkative, however he always put on one hell of a show with a passion most guys wish they could have even half of. The man should be rewarded for that. It’s time for Jeff to play with the big boys, and no I’m not talking old WCW has beens. I’m talking about main event level talent. Yes Jeff had a chance to rise up before he left the WWE and he blew it. This time it’s different. This time you can tell he wants it. Just take a look in Jeff’s eyes and you can see the desire, determination and fire that wasn’t there back in 2003

Is Jeff’s time now? Not just yet, but give him some time to shine in the spotlight of the WWE championship picture and Jeff’s time will be much sooner than later.

RAW IS JERICHO AND MORE

Well Chris Jericho is back baby. Although I and the gazillions of other Jericholics are thrilled about it, it doesn't seem like the live audience at recent RAWs seem to be reacting the way they should. Maybe it's because it wasn't that big of a suprise or maybe it's because he can't have a verbal battle with Orton due to the fact Orton isn't really the best person on the mic.

Personally I think Jericho's return should have been done at Cyber Sunday due to the fact of the whole code breaking and internet codes that were used during the various videos promoting the return. It probably would have gotten a better reaction and people wouldn't have been so over the whole promos like they were when he did return. Plus I thought instead of saying he was saving us from an individual, like he did with Randy Orton, I would have much rather he just basically outed everyone much like he did when he first debuted in the WWE where he said I'm going to save the WWE from these dull boring matches and promos. Because I think if he would have done that, yes it would have pissed people off but maybe it would have lit a fire under some people's asses.

Once Jericho's fued with Orton is over I'm hoping his next fued can be with Kennedy. Because that might friends would be AWESOME. Kennedy's a mic person and we all know what Jericho can do on the mic. They both are both great wrestlers who can be technical but also can do a lot of the fast pased high flying moves. This would be a great fued to build up to Wrestlemania. But if they put them both in the Money in the Bank Match at Wrestlemania I'd be happy, although I wish I could be there to see it live.

Carlito Staying or Going?

Another great young superstar, who I feel if used properly could be big one day, status in WWE is unclear. Lately he is being used as jobber and being mocked. Maybe the guy doesn't show the passion they want him to but the guy is very talented. I say if they aren't going to use him properly and they still want to keep him move him, like they did to Shelton Benjamin, to ECW. They need guys who can work with CM Punk who are credible wrestlers. This would be a great way to add more wrestlers to ECW and maybe give it some sort or direction. I think giving Carlito a fresh start with new faces might be what he needs. I know he's sick of probably the political BS, but I think he'd much rather stay with the WWE than go to TNA in the lon run. Who cares if you get moved to ECW, if you can have great matches it shouldn't really mater.

I think ECW should be the young guy show and should be where the young guys should get to shine. I think Carlito along with guys like Shelton Benjamin, Kenny Dykstra, Jimmy Wang Yang, and other numerous guys on the roster who've been placed at the bottom of the totum pole but have lots of potential that doesn't get shown because the focus is on the big names should all be moved over to the ECW Roster. ECW roster is very small and the show gets really repetitive week after week. But if they put all the guys that they have pushed almost so far down that their credibility might get tanked and they'd probably never get over again on ECW maybe the shows ratings would go up. Guys might start learning and showing more passion for their work because they will have something to prove and opportunity to be a top guy with the smaller roster of ECW.

I for one don't want to see Carlito go, but if he does I'd totally understand. He deserves to have an opportunity to go out there and not be mocked but to be taken seriously. I don't think RAW right now is the place for him to do that however. There is just too much talent on that show right now for him to have an opportunity. If they put him on Smackdown I'm afraid they'd just do him like they are doing Kenny Dykstra. So I say move him to ECW, to help fill up the roster and give CM Punk some real competition. Then if that doesn't work out wish him well in his future endeavors, but please don't keep hanging on to him just to keep him away from TNA. That just screws him over, and that's the last thing WWE needs is more bitter former employees.
